SEEKING SHOWGIRLS FOR 2012
The 2011 Gresford Showgirl Sallie Pilgrim will represent the area at this year’s Zone final in Lithgow in mid-February. Sallie is excited to be given another chance to be the ambassador for our community and we wish her well.
Finding a new Showgirl at this time of year has proved challenging so the organisers have decided to restructure the local competition. From now on a Showgirl will be selected around show time in March, to be eligible for the following zone finals early the next year. It is felt this will give the girls more time to settle into the role, and prepare for the next challenge.
Showgirl Coordinators Penny Evans and Emma Badgery plan to run another competition in March to coincide with the 80th show, in the hope of finding someone to represent us at next year’s zone finals. A junior competition for girls aged 14-17 will also be held at this time.
